LA TROBE FINANCIAL PROUD SPONSORS OF THIS YEAR’S MFAA CONVENTION

This year’s theme at the MFAA Convention was “life-changing conversations” and La Trobe Financial certainly engaged in conversation with a number of brokers. At Booth 72, we had a lot of fun. A number of you even competed well against the world’s “Best Aerial Skier of all Time” – our Company Ambassador, Jacqui Cooper. You would have quickly noticed her competitive spirit.

National Sales Team

La Trobe Financial’s National Sales Team was delighted to meet with so many of you. We also sent some of our senior decision makers to our Booth. We thought it was a great opportunity to get them in front of you. Our service, products and delivery is very important to us and this helps us to help you. Cory Bannister, Head of Product commented that "it was a real opportunity to develop stronger relationships personally than always speaking over the phone. It was really nice to put a face to someone we have been speaking to over time.

WIMBN Leaders Panel

The MFAA also arranged a special industry luncheon including a panel session with key industry leaders. One of the panellists was La Trobe Financial’s Michelle Bannister. Michelle is well known for having won the MFAA Excellence Award for Best BDM for two consecutive years (2013 and 2014.)

Some of the key messages that we took from the session included:

  • be genuine,
  • be understanding; and
  • develop a passion to help people.

For the future, the industry needs to become more efficient, implement better processes and keep up with the latest technology. Being more focused on productivity was also considered to be very important.

Another topical discussion point was attracting new brokers into the industry. No matter whether female or male it was important that the industry kept relevant for new brothers and sisters. Being a broker can be an excellent career choice and if you get the above things right, a rewarding and successful career is possible.

Congratulations to all our Winners

At Booth 72, we had a number of competitions – Ski against the world’s best, Scratch N Win and Spin N Win.

Spin N Win achieved a lot of excitement over the 3 days. During the lunchtime session we made so much noise that people that were not at Booth 72, followed the noise and also joined the fun!

We gave away 7 bottles of Bollinger, 8 x 6 packs of beer, 17 cases of Merlot and 10 bottles of Grange

We also learned it was Leith Wickstein’s birthday and he was lucky to spin and win a bottle of Grange. Happy Birthday Leith!

Congratulations to the Grange winners:

  • Sean Reid
  • Pauline Sultana
  • Warren Freeman
  • Leith Wickstein
  • Daniel Lanna
  • Andrew Evans
  • Gavin Robinson
  • Erina Cunningham
  • Glen Gillespie
  • Stephen Mitchell

And finally… Thank you

We take this opportunity to thank you for joining us at Booth 72. We have taken on-board your thoughts and feedback and will continue to make our products the best in the business.
